Lights...Tree...Snow...Christmas

There's been a lot going on in the Harris house during the month of December. We were thrilled to have a visit from Auntie Anne and cousin Audrey. We planned lots of fun stuff to do including shopping in Peddler's Village and going to the light display at Shady Brook farm. Mac had lots of fun playing with his cousin.

Audrey loved to hold Mac. She has had a lot of practice with her other cousin Elise so she was very gentle.

Auntie Anne couldn't get enough of Mac.

Audrey realized that taking care of a baby is a lot harder than it looks.

Andrew and I had never been through the light show before. We thought Mac would love looking at the lights but he fell asleep instead.

After we took Anne and Audrey to the airport, we decided to do our annual trek to Carlson's tree farm to hunt down our Christmas tree. Mac was a little unsure about the whole thing.

We found a good one and Andrew ceremoniously cut it down. So mannly!

A couple weeks later a massive snow storm descended on the Northeast. We got a little over a foot of snow. Here is the picture of our back door leading to our deck. Tough to even get the door open!

Andrew worked through the morning shoveling out the cars while Mac stayed warm in his bed.

But Mac didn't want to miss out on the first real big snow in a long time. So we bundled him up and took him out to get a look at the whole thing. He wasn't a big fan of sitting up next to the snow.
Happy Holidays Everyone!! We are off in a couple of days to visit the Burton side of the family for Mac's first Christmas. Many more pictures to come.

Happy Thanksgiving from our little turkey!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! This year we were blessed with a beautiful, happy boy whom we are thankful for every day. So we were really excited to share with Mac one of our favorite holidays. Every year we travel down to Aunt Sue's house in Avalon, NJ to spend the day with the O'Brien's, Thoman's, Slacks, Kane's, and Harris'. Needless to say Mac was a hit and everyone enjoyed holding and cuddling with him. Below is his take on the holiday.

Turkey!!!

and Pie!!!!!

Gotta get clean for my debut.

Thank you Katie K for my Thanksgiving day outfit. I'm pretty darn cute, if I do say so myself.

This was the first time I got to see the ocean. I think I would like to go back when it's a little warmer. Daddy mentioned something about learning to swim but I am still trying to get used to bathtime.

Here's me and Auntie TT. She makes me smile a lot especially when she tells me the story of daddy melting crayons in her toaster oven. Gotta remember to try that when I can control my hands better.

That's my Grandmom O'Brien. I am her 9th great grandchild. Aunt Beth is holding me. She just couldn't get enough of me.

This is my second cousin Maggie. She is Beth's youngest and really liked playing with my feet. She gave me kisses and tucked me in when I wanted a nap. So far I like this Thanksgiving thing!

I am STUFFED! Let's do this again next year.

"A" is for Apple...."M" is for Mac

It was a beautiful fall weekend this weekend so Andrew, Mac and I decided to head out to Apple Festival in Peddler's Village. The Village was all decked out with the scarecrows and vendors lined up outside. It was packed!! But we got a chance to visit Jill at the Velvet Slipper and all the girls that I used to work with at Lace Silhouettes. Mac, of coarse, was a hit and enjoyed watching all the commotion.

Aunt Stephanie sent Mac this onesie just in case anyone was wondering what the letter "M" stands for.

I was excited to get some Christmas shopping done!

Does this place look familar? It is actually the spot where Andrew and I had our wedding pictures taken.

Mac insisted we take his picture too!

Don't worry, though. Andrew got something out of the trip too. We puchased apple dumplings which were as delicious as they sound.

I was lucky enough to get one too!

The sign of a long but fun morning!

Too Cute to Scare!

So I know I have been terrible at updating the blog. The last one was my baby shower and since then a lot has happened (obviously). Andrew and I have just been having so much fun with this little one that it was tough to stop and take a break to update the blog. Anyway... here are some Halloween pictures to make you all happy. We have a wonderful neighborhood civic association which arranges a lot of family events including the annual Halloween parade for families. The police shut the streets down so the families can parade through the neighborhood. Despite a little rain Mac enjoyed his first Halloween.

Mac decided to watch a little TV before going to the parade. Daddy now has someone else to fight with over the remote.

My standard Halloween costume. Mac had a cute orange and white stripped outfit that said "My First Halloween".

Can't forget the money shot.

Aunt Rae and Uncle Seth came over to show Mac how trick or treating is really done.

Walking down the parade route.

Even with the rain we had a really good turn out.

Surprise!!! It's a baby shower!

So after desperately trying to figure out when my shower would be, my friends and family managed to surprise the girl who can't be surprised! Andrew had indicated that every Saturday in the month of August could be my shower and I was to look nice "just in case". He had me convinced (and quite angry if you ask me) that we were just going to play cards at Terry and Dave's house. When I walked through the door, everyone started yelling surprise. It took me a few minutes to realize what was going on and to notice that my sisters were there too! What a great party. One which I will never forget. I am truly blessed to have such great friends and family. My love to you all and many thanks!!

Fourth of July Fun!!!

Andrew and I are trying to take advantage of being able to travel lightly pre baby. So we planned a long overdue trip to see my sister Stephanie in Huntsville, Alabama. Stephanie, Richard and Sarah Kate graciously allowed us to join them at their lake house in Rogersville. Boy did we have fun!!! We spent the weekend swimming in the lake, eating good food, and playing with all of the toys Steph and Richard have at the lake house. And even though I am pregnant, I got to participate in some of the action too.

Andrew and Aunt Stephi on the boat. You can easily tell who spends more time in the sun!

Uncle Brian made it down on the 4th and went out on the boat with us.

Andrew and I on the boat. Thankfully Richard kept the pace to a leisurely ride.

Aunt Stephanie took Andrew and Sarah Kate for a spin on the raft. This was a little too bumpy for me to participate.

Wahoo!!! Andrew and Sarah Kate caught air on that ride!

Andrew preparing to jump off the 24 foot dock into the lake.

Such a long way down!!!

Uncle Richard sets off an impressive fireworks display every 4th of July. Here are the pre pictures of his stock.

The show was better than any show we have seen at home. Plus we had front row seats. (But not too close)

Sarah Kate and I sat together to watch the show.

Adventurous Andrew decided to try his luck at knee boarding. This is him getting ready for Stephanie to hit the gas.

Not the most attractive picture but it appears as if he is getting it.

On second thought....maybe not.

Stephanie had to tow Andrew back to the dock, defeated and sore.

This was a little more my speed during the weekend. Thanks to the Marsden's for all the fun and sun. Can't wait to do it again!
